Happy Birthday To Me!

Things have been pretty crazy lately. We spent the better part of my birthday in Seward. I opened my gifts on Friday but had cake on Saturday. Usually Mom and Dad decorate my cake but this year was different. I wanted a Candy Land cake and Grandpa was just the person for the job. He made sure there was plenty of candy to go around. Sugar rush anyone?

Even though school ended almost a month ago, Mom is just getting around to posting pics. Here I am with my teacher Mrs. Johnstone.

This was our end of the year program complete with song and dance.

I can't forget my favorite buddy (who also happens to be my brother).

Notice anything different? I am finally CAST FREE! It's so nice to be able to play with the other kids, do projects, oh... and take a real BATH! I am so happy to have my arm back.

Today I had my cast removed. It was a little scary at first, but it was nice to see my arm again (even if it was only for a little while).

Once the cast was off, my arm was scrubbed down we headed to radiology for more X-rays.

More waiting...

It was pretty boring waiting for the cast to harden. I am glad to have the smaller cast and be able to bend my arm.

This time I went with a purple cast with a pink butterfly. Finally done, here is my second cast.

Another year, another injury

Wednesday was a crazy day. I was at recess playing on the sledding hill when a girl slipped and fell on top of me. I went to the nurse who called my Mom. After talking to Mom I felt better, and didn't want to leave school. I came home and was still hurting a little bit. Mom decided it was time to go to the Emergency Room. Dad came home from work and took me to the hospital. After getting X-rays taken, the doctor gave us the news, I had a buckle fracture to my Radius. I was sent home with a temporary soft cast and sling. On Friday I went in to get a hard cast that goes past my elbow. In 2-3 weeks I will get a new cast that goes below the elbow. I have to wear that cast for another 2-3 weeks. At least I got to pick out the colors.

Learning More Every Day

It's amazing how much I have learned in school the past few months. I am able to read a few books and count to 100. I draw beautiful pics (hopefully Mom will scan a few) not to mention my constantly increasing vocabulary. I was recently presented with a kindness award from my school and enjoyed lunch with my principal. It's hard to believe in 3 months I will have graduated kindergarten!

Summer just isn't coming fast enough. As soon as the snow leaves I want to go camping, fishing, hiking... you name it. I enjoy being a big sister to Gavin and can't wait for baby Addison to get here. Sometimes I can't understand why the doctor won't just let her come out right now.

2008 Christmas Program

I know Mom is a little behind but these are pics from my school Christmas program. We sang several songs and enjoyed a yummy spaghetti dinner.
